Click on the Format button (bottom left) and select paragraph. Set what you want in the paragraph settings. OK your way out of the dialog boxes. Close Word. If asked if you want to save changes to the template, say yes. Reopen Word and see if the change stuck. Note, this will not change existing documents nor documents you receive from elsewhere.
