Start by spraying the front of the iPod with WD40 and then tear off a piece of the sandpaper and scratch away at the front of the iPod until the scratches that were there are gone. I know people scoff at this idea, but you'll never remove scratches with PlastX on it's own, at least deep ones.

Reply. Award. Share. CRTcable. • 3 yr. ago. Buy a new back for $8 of AliExpress and get a clear case for it. You do have to open it which the new back will come with tools to open it and it's just carefully taking the tape, screws and components bout of the old back and putting them in the new one.
For more context, I have a 30gig iPod 5th generation and the back is scratched to all hell. I want to keep the back for originality but have no idea how to make it look a bit better. Any tips?
