Water regularly; feed at least once a month until late summer with a liquid organic fertilizer such as fish oil. Keep down weeds, preferably with mulch, and spray with a fungicide as a good precaution against botrytis which might destroy the leaves.
Soak your lily seeds in water for 12 hours before planting. This will help the lily seed germinate faster and more easily. Do not wash your lily seeds after soaking them in water. Allow them to dry off naturally on a paper towel or by placing them under glass or in direct sunlight (not too close to any windows).

How to grow lilies. Grow oriental lilies in acidic soil or ericaceous compost, and other types, including Asiatic and Turk's cap lilies in neutral to alkaline soil or multi-purpose compost. All types need a sheltered sunny spot to thrive, and a deep pot if growing in containers. Plant lily bulbs from October to April.
