You need a way to run homebrew to be able to run the fmcb installer to make your own card. That means a modded system, swap magic setup, or you do a manual live disc swap that is a pain. The $8 to just buy a card already set up is worth it compared to what it would cost to get the other stuff. Once you have one card you can make others easily.
