18 wrz 2021 · From what I have read on this forum, the two options for installing CFW on this console are: 1. Upgrade to OFW 4.82 and use PS3xploit. 2. Downgrade to 3.55 and install CFW. The issue is that normal methods for both of these options will cause the PS3 to enter a reboot loop.

The PS3 doesn't have a very fast hard drive controller. You can get an SSD to install, but it really isn't worth it. The speed maxes out at 1.5 Gb/s. It's a SATA-150 controller. You can get a 7,200 RPM drive to work, but even that won't work at full speed. The controller just doesn't have the throughput.
If you’re using a USB stick it does make it easy if you use the splitter and then use multiman to copy them from the external to the internal. But using FTP if you can hardwire your computer and PS3 to the network is a really good option.
