It's OK, I just downloaded the (apparently most recent) version of iTunes that you can download, from 2020, 2 or 3 versions ago. Deleted the iTunes library .itl file, reinstalled iTunes and reloaded all the files from the iTunes music folder.

I got the 4.0 AppSync and was able to successfully install a cracked app through iFunBox. This will work for most of the big name games that I can find cracked ipas of, but is there any way I can authorize my ipod so it can run the games that are on it now?
