Find out what to do if an Xbox digital game won’t start or freezes during gameplay.
Sometimes a game freeze or startup problem can be caused by a temporary issue that can be corrected simply by exiting and restarting the game. If the game is running, try exiting to the Home screen. Here’s how:

Open the xbox game app and go to preferences (click on your logo in the upper left). Set the default installation folder where your games have been installed to. Then, while the app is open, go to the game folder of each of your games and look for a game exe file in the <game name>/Content/ and start it.
A: With the old store, you would wait for the update to finish, open the game in the Store, cancel the install from the store or My Games and Apps, eject the disc, and then install it digitally from the Store.
