You can add a rubric to an assignment to help students understand expectations for the assignment and how you intend to score their submissions. Occasionally, rubrics are added to assignments when you have an outcome inside of the rubric that you would like to use for alignment purposes.

How to Create a Rubric. 1) Click on Rubrics in your Course Navigation Menu. 2) To add a rubric, click Add Rubric. To edit an existing rubric, click on it as it appears under Course Rubrics. 3) A small area will appear for you to start creating your rubric. To edit any of the sections, click on the pencil [ ] icon.
This lesson shows how to create a rubric in the Manage Rubrics page. You can also create a rubric directly when adding a rubric to an assignment, and the process is the same. Rubric criteria can include a point range or an individual point value.
