This gives the player collecting the money a lifeline when funds are low, or a huge cash injection to help build houses and hotels on existing properties.
Anytime someone pays a fee or tax (Jail, Income, Luxury, etc.), put the money in the middle of the board. When someone lands on Free Parking, they get that money. If there is no money, they receive $100. Note: This variation generally increases the length of the game.

Free Parking Checkpoint. This house rule is a variant of the ‘Pot Collection’ mentioned above. Whenever you pass Free Parking (and don’t land on it), you have to pay into the center of the board. You’ll set this amount before the game, but a small amount is best – $5 or $10.
