Our goal is to make atleast 65GB (needed for 4.0 update) of space in the partition where game is installed. Create a folder on another drive (preferably an HDD partition) and name it whatever you want. Go to the folder where GenshinImpact.exe is (i.e. GenshinImpactGame folder inside the launcher folder by default)
6 gru 2022 · 4TB SATA 3 SSDs can be had for ~£250 and are fast enough for most games. 2TB NVMe 4.0 are ~£180. I went all WD with 1 1TB SN850 NVMe for OS, 2 2TB SN850 NVMe for Flight Sim / Direct Storage, 4 4TB SATA SSD for work / games and a 4TB SATA HD for local backups.
I noticed language data alone was ca. 65 GB and DLC around 15, how that adds up with the base game I'm not sure. But if I hover over delete it tells me I get 77 GB more storage if I do so. Our updates are also around 20-30 GB, but I'll assume it replaces some data or it would be hundreds of gb by now (:
This is what "required for unzipping" means and why it's ridiculously large. After unzipping, patcher delete zip file and copy new files into your game, some of which actually overwrite old files and thus reduce the final result even further.
27 gru 2022 · If file size is an issue and u wont play the DLCs, you can remove them from the game via steam folder since they are not being used at all except taking up space. If you want every DLC but still want to know file size, expect 150-160 because the content is actually big and huge.
