I've convinced myself that at first symptom of a cold, all I have to do is down a ton of Vitamin C, some nyquil, and then sleep for as long as possible and I'll wake up symptom free and no cold follows... it works 99% of the time.
They usually start to subside but can last two weeks, sometimes a bit longer. Understanding this time frame, coupled with knowing what warning signs to look out for should stop unnecessary visits to your GP.
Trust me on this I've had lots of colds. 10 days or more before the runny nose stops and coughing up phlegm. Ugh I'd rather have fever & chills than my nose running like crazy while I cough my brains out.😁😁😁
Oct - March. arrives for 2 days, stays 2 days, takes 2 days to leave. I don't usually get sick, but when I do it's usually last for 7-10 days. If you treat it it'll be gone in a week, if you don't you'll be better in seven days. Too long. It depends, on several factors. 'Till it's gone.
The only thing that’s different every time is her WBC which varies. Sometimes it is up (never more than 15000 - and that only happened once), sometimes it is normal. I love her doctor who’s always been very supportive because I’m a very anxious mom (OCD), but whenever her colds last more than 10 days, she always sends her antibiotics.
Yes this is common. The nastiest colds we've experienced have lingered 3+ weeks. 1-2 weeks is common for congestion and cough to linger in my experience.
