An aerial view of Waterdeep from the southwest and the Dock Ward. Due to its great importance as a highly influential metropolitan city, Waterdeep was considered part of the Western Heartlands of the Realms, even though it lay 150 miles (240 kilometers) north of Daggerford on the shores of the Sword Coast North.
10 paź 2018 · Waterdeep is approximately 3.8 miles x 1.5 miles. Or ~20,000 feet north/south and ~8,000 feet east/west. Both measurements were done along the greatest straight-line dimension of the city. This measurement is done by measuring the space between the walls of Waterdeep, so it includes the enclosed section of the harbor to the south.
Here's a discussion about the size and number of inhabitants in Waterdeep. Here is the map with scale they reference. It is approximately 3 miles and 700 feet from the northern most tip of Sea Ward to the Southern most tip of Dock Ward.

Evening all, I'm trying to find the largest, highest quality image of Waterdeep I possibly can. Thinking of getting a custom mat printed, and my goal is about 36" x 60", which needs a resolution of about 3750x5625 minimum or 9000x13500 pixels ideally; a big ask.

The best resource for Waterdeep is the classic AD&D second edition book Volo’s Guide to Waterdeep. Undermountain, however, is too big for a single adventure or dungeon to explain.
