Troop C is located in Terrebonne Parish at the intersection of LA Hwy 24 and US 90. Troop C encompasses five (5) parishes. The following is a list of those parishes, including their corresponding square miles and highway miles.
The troop headquarters was located in Houma, LA. In 1957, it was determined that the eleven districts were unmanageable and were reduced into eight districts. In 1938, Captain William “Bill” Fakier assumed command of Troop C, which was now located in District 3, and its headquarters remained in Terrebonne Parish.
Troop M of the Louisiana State Police was open in 1964 and was located in a converted two-story house in Des Allemands, LA in Lafourche Parish. The troop was comprised of the following Parishes: Lafourche, Terrebonne, Assumption, the West banks of St. Charles, St. John, and St. James.

27 gru 2023 · Houma – On December 27, 2023, shortly before 5:00 a.m., Louisiana State Police Troop C began investigating a two-vehicle fatality crash on Louisiana Highway 182 near Sugar Ridge Drive. The crash claimed the lives of 34-year-old Melissa Stelly and 28-year-old Duncan Prentice, both of Houma.
