If the engine fails to start, remove the spark plugs, clean and dry the electrodes, then reinstall the spark plugs and attempt to start the engine again. If used engine oil showed signs of water contamination, then a second engine oil change should be performed after running the engine for 1/2 hour.
24 lis 2013 · One easy way to check, would be to put the spark plugs in the motor, connect the plug wires and put a timing light on each lead. If the timing light flashes, most likely, you have spark. The ignition circuits on the 50's is very hardy...if you have no spark at all, it could be the exciter, pulser wiring, or cdi.
30 lip 2016 · Try pulling over engine in the dark to verify no spark. Many of these older models will have a "neutral start switch" mounted on the shaft that is connected to the shift lever. It is located on that shaft just inside the oil case on the starboard side of the outboard.
29 lis 2003 · hello<br /> check that all filters and gaskets are tight. but if the lower goes higher than the powerhead expect leaks. the motror has to be vented someplace. and it may have been some oil was spilled in the cowl at service time. try laying it down again on the floor for a day then hanging it upright again. see if you can make the problem ...
WHAT TO DO. Stop the engine immediately and check the engine oil level. If the oil is up to the recommended level, operate the outboard motor at low speed (within 30 seconds). The warning system is normal if it stops.
1 cze 2016 · My motor was not getting spark to number two cylinder and at first the tech though it was the coil so he replaced it. That apparently did not work so he decided the CDI was defective and recommend i replace it .
20 lip 2017 · If you have a leak 90% of the time it will be from the rocker cover or from the crank breather exiting through the airbox. If it is coming from the airbox it has either been stored incorrectly or overfilled with oil
