Although it is made specifically for my router, most items covered should be applicable for any CNC machine for personal use.
The goal of this project is to build a simple universal motor PID speed controller using a minimum number of components.
To control a CNC router, you need 3 different types of software. A CAD program, to create a drawing. A CAM program to create the toolpaths and output the G-code. And a controller program which translates the G-code and controls the router. I am using CamBam to create most of my drawings and create the toolpaths.

The control board detects the router speed and adjusts the power supplied to the router to maintain a constant speed using an industrial PID algorithm. Speed is varied by a single large knob. This means the router can be set from speeds 5000-30000 RPM and will maintain a constant speed even when cutting etc.
13 lip 2022 · The GRBL_SPD is a Makita Router Integration Board used to control the power and speed of the ‘standard’ Makita 701C router via GRBL. By connecting the GRBL_SPD to an ordinary Arduino, any CNC router can have software control over the router’s RPM (from 10,000 to 30,000) and the on/off states.
