Works great at 100 watt, easy to tune, compact Time Owned: 0 to 3 months. This little tuner fits in my go kit and works great. To minimize stress on the tuner, I don't tune with the radio. I connect an antenna analyzer to the tuner and adjust for minimum SWR. Only then I connect it to the radio.
17 cze 2020 · I have one for my station, and am very well pleased with it. It replaced my MFJ-939 when I got an old Heathkit SB-200 amp, and it handles its output very well (about 600 watts max, usually run around 300-350 SSB or 100-150 digital).
16 cze 2022 · MFJ makes a neat little Travel Tuner and I have played with one. I wanted an ATU that has bnc connectors and fits in my shirt pocket. The Elecraft T1 and the ATU-10 fit my needs to the T.
29 cze 2021 · There are tuned single-band whip antennas, with BNC connectors, available from MFJ and probably other sources. I have gotten a 20 meter one and also a set of 8 loading and coils and one telescoping whip, all through ebay. The antenna will mount right on the radio, and with the built-in mic and speaker, you have an HF walkie-talkie.
18 kwi 2020 · A well-designed Z-match tuner has a high Q and is more efficient (less lossy) than other types of tuners. The fixed inductor simplifies construction (no taps or rollers needed). Using a toroid inductor and some small poly-film variable capacitors, the Z-match can be built into a very compact package.
11 gru 2016 · Basic external antenna tuners available for well under $100. The MFJ 16010 is specifically designed for random wire use and they offer a QRP-specific antenna tuner too. I personally use an LDG Z-817 .
