The history of the Jacob sheep breed is a mystery but they have been found in England for more than 300 years. The Jacob is small sized and has multiple horns, giving this breed a truly unique appearance which endears them to their owners.
Jacob Sheep were originally imported into the United States and Canada in the early 1900s for use in game parks and zoos. These early flocks were later bought by private individuals. The genetic pool was greatly enhanced by additional importations from Britain during the 1950s and 1960s.
