27 lip 2020 · The muscular or anatomical cuirass appears in history at least as far back as the Greek Archaic period, and similar sculpted forms can be found in many armors around the world. As in his Raid Captain armor, Guts's breastplate is fairly short and only goes down as far as his ribcage.
Hi Everybody, this is my long-delayed photo essay about the evolution of Guts's armors and costume throughout the manga. Part 1 is about the armors he wore as a mercenary. I will later release Part 2 about the armors he's worn as the Black Swordsman.
What is your interpretation of the narrative, metaphoric, thematic, or symbolic implications of Guts being born from a corpse
As far as I know, Guts' armor (Swordsman Armor Set) and Griffith's armor (White Hawk Armor Set) are not available in the game in any form anymore. Which is a shame, because Griffith's armor was pretty decent-looking plate. There's a list of similar armor pieces for Guts here.
17 lip 2020 · Guts's armor takes an extreme beating during the fight with Wyald. The plates become dented and deformed, while splints start to be stripped off from the cloth foundation of his pauldrons and chaps. His sword also becomes cracked, and he knows it's about to break.
10 sie 2020 · The cuisses of Guts's armor are smooth and undecorated, but the poleyns attached to them have the same angular form as the pauldrons. The main plate of each poleyn has a wing on the outside with flutes (channels) hammered into it, so that it resembles a bat's wing or a fish's fin.
The Cannon Arm is a device worn and used by Guts. While in its base state it functions as a prosthetic arm, it can double up as a miniature cannon. It has proven its usefulness several times in battle as a secondary weapon next to the Dragon Slayer.
