You can use your computer while its updating, although it may run slow if you're doing more than browsing, but when it reboots it's unusable until it's finished.
Trying to install betfair poker on a macbook, but everytime it says "To be able to perform the software update Administrator permission is needed. Please login as administrator using the next window that will appear."
