12 maj 2009 · You are also correct in saying that the standard sight picture is to align the top of the front sight with the top of the rear sight, the only pistols that do not follow this rule are the Taurus Mil Pros with Heine sights.

Taurus manufactures the sight under a license agreement with Richard Heinie and Heinie Specialty Products, Inc. These sights are designed to be used as follows: Point of Aim Point of Impact, at 20-25 yards.
Heinie Specialty Products, Inc. manufactures pistol sights, night sights, and other products for nearly all major brands. Heinie sights are used in a recreational environment, a competitive environment, and by military and law enforcement, often for EDC.
5 wrz 2013 · Taurus had already entered into an agreement with Richard Heinie to use a heinie designed rear sight on their 24/7 pistol. They decided to go ahead and use the sight on their 1911 pistol. However, the sight was not really proportional to the 1911 like it was to the 24/7.
21 wrz 2016 · I actually prefer the Heinie sights on my Taurus. The straight eight sights use a single dot on the rear sight just below the notch with the front sight also with a white dot. The method of use is stacking the front dot over the rear dot which forms a figure eight.
23 sty 2012 · I called Taurus customer service and ordered the replacement sights for the Heinie sights. They say it's three dots but really you leave the front sights on and just replace the rear with a two dot sight.
11 wrz 2009 · Well - I'm loving this little 3rd gen Taurus MillPro .45ACP, but these Heinie Straight Eight sights are taking some getting used to. Heinie says, "It is a proven fact that the human eye can correct vertical alignment quicker then horizontal alignment." Some reviews I see say these Straight 8 sigh...
