8 kwi 2024 · Life expectancy after cardiac ablation depends on a range of factors, such as whether the procedure causes complications. Learn more here.
29 paź 2019 · The early mortality rate after CA of AF is 0.46%, with approximately 50% of deaths occurring during rehospitalizations within the first 30 days of the index hospitalization. The strongest predictors of early death are a procedural complication and HF, suggesting that early identification and treatment of a complication and HF might decrease the ...
3 dni temu · Sukarai and colleagues reviewed long-term outcomes of concomitant surgical ablation in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) undergoing cardiac surgery. This was performed by meta-analysis, encompassing 9 randomized controlled trials and 15 observational studies with over 40,000 patients [1]. The authors found that at a median follow-up of 62 months, surgical ablation was associated with a ...
27 paź 2023 · Atrial fibrillation (AF), a cardiac arrhythmia, exhibits a heightened prevalence among individuals diagnosed with cancer, notably prominent in cases of lung and gastrointestinal malignancies. Robust evidence from extensive studies underscores this association, emphasizing its clinical significance.
However, the 5-year survival rate for AF would rank number 11 if ranked in a list of the 25 most deadly cancers in the US, well above colon cancer, melanoma, breast cancer, and 12 others (Figure 3) [7, 8, 9]. In addition, AF is much more lethal in women than in men (Figure 4) [10].
8 lut 2023 · The 5-year success rate was 29% after a single ablation procedure and 63% after multiple ablation procedures. Most failed in the first 6 months, with a decline of 8.9%/yr after the last ablation procedure.
The overall complication rate was 6.29%, with cardiac complications being most common. Annual operator (<25 procedures) and hospital volume (<50 procedures) were significantly associated with adverse outcomes.
