Higher vocational education (HBO) The 43 HBO institutions in the Netherlands together offer 200 programmes in a wide range of disciplines. They provide theoretical and practical training for occupations for which a higher vocational qualification is either required or useful.
If you complete the first year completely and successfully (obtain the 60ECTS) of a bachelor’s degree at an University of Applied Sciences, you will get the so-called HBO-Propedeuse (HBO-P) certificate, with this certificate you can apply for a bachelor’s degree at the University of Twente.
It is possible to enter one of our bachelor programs with a propaedeutic certificate of a university of applied sciences (HBO). You will have to meet the entry requirements set out below. These entry requirements are derived from the requirements for holders of a Dutch pre-university diploma (VWO).
Apply. Overview. If you are enrolled as a student in university, higher vocational education, or secondary vocational education, you can apply for student finance. 27 lis 2023 · To be recognised, fully privately-funded higher education institutions need to be approved by the Education Inspectorate and the Netherlands-Flanders Accreditation Organisation (NVAO). The certificates they award to graduates are equivalent to those awarded by publicly-funded institutions.
Apply. Basic grant. The amount of the basic grant depends on your living situation. If you are living on your own, the grant is higher than if you live with (one of) your parents. The basic grant is a gift if you are in MBO level 1 (‘entrée-opleiding’) or 2.
