Student finance consists of different components, such as the basic grant, the supplementary grant, the student travel product, the interest bearing loan and the tuition fees loan (for HBO and university only).
If you are enrolled as a student in university, HBO, or MBO, you can apply for student finance. Apply in time, preferably 8 weeks before your student finance is due to start, so you don’t miss out on any money. Student finance consists of various components. You decide which components to apply for. Don’t miss out on any money.
If you do not qualify for student finance, you may be eligible for another scheme: grant or subsidy for a teacher training course (information in Dutch) grant for teachers studying at HBO or university (information in Dutch) lifelong learning credit.
Higher vocational education (HBO) The 43 HBO institutions in the Netherlands together offer 200 programmes in a wide range of disciplines. They provide theoretical and practical training for occupations for which a higher vocational qualification is either required or useful.
27 lis 2023 · Under the current system, higher education students are eligible for student finance, provided they are under 30 when they begin their studies and attending a full-time course at a university or HBO institution. Student finance consists of: an interest-bearing loan, a supplementary grant and a public transport pass.
Are you completing a transition year, foundation year or pre-Master’s? You will only receive student finance if you are enrolled as a Bachelor’s student (full-time or work-study). You do not receive student finance from a foreign government.
