Immediate release formulation: less than 2 years: 12 mg/kg/day orally in 6 divided doses. 2 to 5 years: 50 to 100 mg orally every 4 hours as needed, not to exceed 600 mg/day. 6 to 11 years: 100 to 200 mg orally every 4 hours as needed, not to exceed 1.2 g/day.
Note: Use weight to dose when possible, otherwise use age. Ideally, the child should be weighed before giving PediaCare®. Healthcare professionals should be consulted for dosing in children under the age of two and in children under the age of six for certain cough, cold and allergy medicines.
