  2. 2 lis 2020 · The forum for all things Gretsch -- new, old, or in between. Roland fetish? Who played a Tennessean w/HiLoTrons?

  3. 24 cze 2009 · Anyone have issues with Gretsch hollow body guitars and feedback? I have been looking for a Tennessee Rose or Country Gent, but worried about feedback when playing live.

  4. The only things I really had an issue with was the string gauge, and a bit of acoustic buzz. I went through some very expensive strings to get it where I wanted, and I settled with Pyramid GOLD med/heavy Flatwounds (12-52).

  5. 19 mar 2022 · Generally, the overall quality, finish, parts, appearance, and sound, is very good to excellent. IMO the best bang for the buck is the Electromatic series. Gretsch has a funny way of designating their guitars…they have everything from solid body, thin semi hollow body, hollow body and acoustic.

  6. Why does the Gretsch feel so much stiffer and resistant when bending? Intonation is off, especially on the G string above the 15th fret. It goes sharp both by ear and on the tuner.

  7. Gretsch pickups are pretty sensitive, and it’s worth experimenting with different types of strings to discover what works for you. It would be hard to improve on Malcolm Young’s rhythm tone for rock, and he’s known to favour Gibson pure-nickel roundwound strings.
