4 lip 2024 · The B.C. climate action tax credit is a quarterly payment that helps offset the impact of the carbon taxes paid by individuals and families. Budget 2024 increased the B.C. climate action tax credit amounts and thresholds effective July 1, 2024.
Claiming the credit. You claim the sales tax credit when you file your T1 Income Tax Return, by using the British Columbia Credits form (BC479). The credit is refundable to the extent it exceeds your income tax payable. You must claim the credit within 3 years after the end of the tax year.
In most provinces, the tax credit for the political contribution is claimed on Form 428 as a non-refundable tax credit. In Ontario and Nunavut, the tax credit is refundable, and is claimed on Form 479.
