But as they developed new techniques and tools for cooking, the grill began to take shape. In essence, grills are cooking appliances used primarily outdoors.
By the late 1950s, American manufacturers and retailers were promoting the then-and-now huge market of goods to go along with grilled meals on the patio. George Stephen, whose primary job was in a metalworks, developed the first Weber kettle grill out of a nautical buoy in 1951.
By 2011, we created the Summit Grill Centers for those who wanted the extreme outdoor kitchen. You could get the Grill Center model, or get the Social area versions, with a left or right section that made an L-shaped grilling center.
Due to increased demand for home grills, Char-Broil began to mass-produce gas grills in the 1960s. [3]In 1961, Char-Broil patented the first grease-handling system for an outdoor grill to make grilling safer and easier. [3] In the 1970s, they were the first to package the LP tank and grill in one box, which revolutionized the backyard grill industry. [2]
