The fix: Open chrome. Click the Customise and control Google Chrome button (top-right corner in my browser, looks like three dots stacked on top of each other) and click Settings. Problem I had at this stage: the text in Settings wasn't loaded. In the address bar at the top of the page, it should say "chrome://settings/".
