David was born in Bethlehem, and the Lord Jesus Christ was born in Bethlehem. David was chosen of God. The Scriptures also say with reference to our Lord Jesus that he too was the elect, or chosen, one of God. David grew up in the quietness of his own particular shepherd life.
15 wrz 2020 · David, chosen by God to be king, felt that way often as he was hunted and persecuted by Saul. Yet, he never doubted that God called him "the apple of his eye." David believed God could see him, provided for, and protected him.
I, as God, am the root — And source; and, as man, the offspring of David — And his family; and the bright and morning star — Who wear a glory exceeding that of the most brilliant and celestial luminary, and who put an end to the night of ignorance, sin, and sorrow, and usher in an eternal day of light, purity, and joy.

If the Christ was to be a mere man, who would not exist till many ages after David's death, how could his forefather call him Lord? The Pharisees could not answer it. Nor can any solve the difficulty except he allows the Messiah to be the Son of God, and David's Lord equally with the Father.

It means that God will keep an eye on him and protect him. Why? Because David is precious to him. But how can David claim to be the apple of God’s eye?
