One year after the debut of the 12" GI Joe, Hasbro presented a "5 Star" Jeep for him to ride in 1965. Vehicles have been a mainstay of every incarnation of Joe since. With the debut of the 3 3/4" figures in 1982, Hasbro also offered a range of vehicles and playsets for use with them.
Many of these vehicles included action figures designed to be the driver/pilot of the vehicle. Other vehicles were sold separately, for use with any G.I. Joe character. In the late 1980s, Toys "R" Us also produced several exclusive lines of G.I. Joe toys, which were repainted and recast versions of previously released toys.

The vehicle mold was repainted or retooled for the following vehicles: APC (1983) Night Scrambler (1989) APC/'CUDA (1992) International Releases In Europe in the early 1980s, the APC was recolored in dark green and black and released as the Z-Force Armoured Troop Carrier .

GI Joe is known for its hi-tech and alternative equipment, but then here are a lot of antiquated and traditional style weapons. Whether they are useful in a real battle scenario or not is up for debate.
GI Joe (1982): Vehicles Hasbro released three new vehicles as part of the initial GI Joe re-release in 1982 with the MOBAT, RAM and VAMP . All three would go on to become instant Joe classics and fan favorites.
