2021/09/14. Follow. I recently installed my 5.1 surround sound setup, works perfectly everywhere (fraunhofer multichannel test, other content, etc.) Yet in Genshin Impact stuff that is happening infront of me is coming from the rear speakers.
I am happy with the sound of the Z5500 still, but I recently got to listen to some high quality speakers and man, the sound clarity was staggering. I was curious if there were any more high quality or audiophile 5.1 surround sound options for PC.

I normally have windows set to output audio as stereo though (switched it to 5.1 to test it) and then have the receiver convert it to dolby surround which gives a good enough result usually (with voices actually going on the center speaker and rest of the sounds placed as they should be).
