Colion Noir and Canadian Prepper can be kinda cringey to listen to but both have decent reviews on civilian available gas masks. Ive got an m40, which is the currently used mask by the army. Def leaves things to be desired, but pretty good bang for your buck.

3M half mask with pink multi gas canisters. Reasonably priced, comfortable fit, and common canisters. Worked well to water the garden during the BC & California fires.
For this, 3M reusable respirators are the best value, and will cover a majority of the most likely emergency scenarios - wildfire smoke (most people die due to smoke inhalation, not fires), toxic rubble dust (see: 9/11 responders cancer rates).
