22 sty 2023 · Creature Size in 5e. Creature size in D&D is a fairly simple mechanic. Each creature exists within a size category, from Tiny to Gargantuan, and these sizes determine how much space a creature actually takes up.
Double the weapon dice if the creature is Large, triple the weapon dice if it's Huge, and quadruple the weapon dice if it's Gargantuan. For example, a Huge giant wielding an appropriately sized greataxe deals 3d12 slashing damage (plus its Strength bonus), instead of the normal 1d12.
20 sty 2022 · Gargantuan: Sperm Whales weigh 31,000 to 90,000 lbs. I'd be tempted to generalize that out to be something like: Tiny < 10 lbs. Small: <100 lbs. Medium: < 400 lbs. Large: < 1,000 lbs. Huge: < 25,000 lbs. Gargantuan: > 25,000 lbs.

In 5e, gargantuan is the catchall size category for anything 20' x 20' or bigger. (3e had size categories colossal and colossal+ above gargantuan. The edition also had more numerical variables than 5e with regard to size.)
