The WM8-22XD cam is essentially a hot rodded up version of the WM8-22XE cam, which gives it a bit more attitude. It trades a little early torque from the XE for some more high RPM horsepower. The extra exhaust duration also gives it a more aggressive idle.
The 777XE was designed as a full effort bolt in for max horsepower. This cam really shines in the upper RPM’s (it developed the highest horsepower of the test) and also delivers very smooth throttle response. Great cam for those that like to click a downshift and twist the throttle.
Cam Lope at Idle: Very Aggressive Description: The S&S 475C made the second best peak HP in our test, it accelerates hard. It is very responsive and has the most aggressive lope of all the cams we tested by a significant margin.
Cam Lope at Idle: Aggressive Description: The WM8-22X camshaft made the most torque overall, this cam drives big torque early on and lots of it. Very strong low-mid RPM response. Strong idle lope.
