To qualify for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, applicants must meet certain non-financial and financial requirements. Non-financial requirements include state residency, citizenship/alien status, work registration and cooperation with the IMPACT (job training) program.
Individuals may apply for Indiana SNAP either online through the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA) Benefits Portal, in person at a local Division of Family Resources (DFR) office, or by mail or fax. Online applications are available 24/7 and are the quickest way to apply.
Please fill out your application as completely as you can. It will help if you can answer all of the questions. However, the application will be valid if you provide name(s), address, and signature. To be considered for expedited SNAP (Food Assistance) service you must complete all of Section 8.
