PSA: Keep copies of all game/eShop codes you use. PSA. It's possible to get them revoked if someone else gets the same code (or even goes through your recycling). After years of waiting for a deal, I bought my Switch when they were offering $35 eShop credit via an in-box voucher.
It’s not sustainable, and also if you can afford a Switch and games for it you should have no problem dropping 5 dollars for an online subscription. The downside is that it takes time to redeem the codes and honestly even if it’s just a few mins you barely save any money anyway so to me it’s not worth it.
