You can now earn your GED for FREE through the Georgia HOPE HSE Grant Program. Eligible Georgia residents can now apply for an award not to exceed $200 to cover the cost of a high school equivalency examination. The HOPE HSE Grant is available for both the GED and HiSET exams.

Georgia Piedmont Technical College and the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) now offer multiple options for achieving your high school equivalency (HSE). Two computer-based testing (CBT) pathways are available through testing centers or proctored at home: the GED ® test or the HiSET ® exam.
11 wrz 2024 · Under-age applicants must, for example, sign up for a free state-approved GED prep course for at least 40 hours and attain satisfactory scores on the GED Ready or Aztec Practice Test. In Georgia, there is no residency requirement, nor do test-takers 18 and up have to take the GED Ready practice test.
However, test preparation services offered through the Adult Education Program are free. Preregistration is required, and a government-issued photo ID is necessary for registration. Visit GED® credential to learn more, or call 1-800-94 MY GED.
If you are age 16 or 17, you must meet the following requirements to take the GED ® test: Enroll in a free state approved adult education class for a minimum of 40 hours. Meet pre and post-test assessment guidelines. Achieve the minimum score to determine readiness (GED Ready ® practice test or Aztec’s GED ® Practice Test).
