8 maj 2012 · As part of the initial "checkup", I had Ford change all of the drive train fluids at 13,300 miles. They used Mercon V in the transfer case (which I thought was a little strange at the time since there is a dedicated transfer case fluid--Part No. XL-12).

11 cze 2017 · I'm going with the Motorcraft XL12. I saw where Valvoline claims their transfer case fluid meets Fords XL12 specs. Same price for both in my area.
28 lut 2005 · The x-12 is equivalent to the original mineral Mercon ATF. XT-2-QSM Mercon synthetic is the only fluid I would use from the stealership.
18 kwi 2019 · XL-12 was nothing special. Just Mercon add pack in a Synthetic base oil. This can easily be replaced with Valvoline Transfercase Fluid, MTL fluid or use what Ford now uses which is LV. I will say the BW are much more tolerant of a thinner fluid unlike the older NV units.
Until mid-2018, Ford specified synthetic base Motorcraft XL-12 Transfer Case Fluid for use in chain drive transfer cases that originally used Dexron II or Mercon, however, since that time Ford has superseded XL-12 with Mercon LV.
