Richard Satava Handblown Glass Artist. Richard Satava was introduced to glassblowing in 1969 while at Ocean High School in Pacifica, California. He subsequently studied art and glassblowing at the College of San Mateo and California State University, Chico.

One of the highlights of our visit to Chico Ca was viewing the exquisite glass items at the Orient and Flume studio. We spent over 90 minutes there and looked at everything. There is a separate room with historical pieces.
Internationally known, Orient & Flume creates intricate, three-dimensional designs encased in clear glass for which the studio is now famous. Their works are in the permanent collections of the Chrysler Museum, Corning Glass Museum, the Metropolitan, and the Smithsonian.
