Fletcher Roseberry Jones (January 22, 1931 – November 7, 1972) was an American businessman, computer pioneer and thoroughbred racehorse owner. Born in Bryan, Texas, Jones was the third of three children of an impoverished Depression era family.
At the time, Jones Sr. studied law at USC. He left university, and promptly pursued a career in the fast-growing automotive retail industry. With a savings of about $1,200, he opened a small used car dealership in downtown Los Angeles.
