The page for the service account "cancellation" is very strongly worded in a way that explicitly says you cannot use the account again: "After the cancellation procedures for this service account have completed, you will no longer be able to use this service account."
As far as crysta goes its an easy way to sub for one month without having to continuously sub, or go back and cancel your sub. You can set up payment via credit / debit / crysta etc. I believe credit and debit is recurring monthly and crysta (maybe?) has to be manually applied each month?
When you obtain a FINAL FANTASY XI option (Content ID), you can have previously deleted character data restored onto that ID, and resume play immediately! We cannot guarantee that the character you would like to reactivate can be restored.
