14 kwi 2020 · Original is fully moddable, so you can upgrade backgrounds, textures, etc... to higher resolution with fan mods, etc. Remaster is still being decoded so that some of those mods will work. Plus the remaster took away some things such as full motion support.
The AI mods for the original on PC look better to me than the remaster. You also have to run a mod for the music with the PC version of the original, but it's not too bad. I started playing through with a bunch of mods just before the remaster came out and found no reason to change to the remaster.
I wanted to buy Final Fantasy VIII, but I don't know if I should buy the Remastered version or the older one. From what I've seen from the reviews, the Remastered version is crashing often, and I would prefer to avoid that, but the remastered one has better graphics.
