There are two methods to install these modified maps into your FFXI client. Preferred method: XIPivot is a dat replacement plugin available for both Windower and Ashita which allows a user to dynamically replace .dat files with custom versions.
Map (and DAT Pack 2) are complete and available for download! Please see this post for more information, including which maps are included in the pack, and instructions on how to use them in your game files, should that be something you want to do!

21 maj 2020 · We are tracking progress over on the dev blog and this reddit post but will try to provide updates here as much as possible. Create HD map assets (at least 2048 x 2048) that remain true to the character, style, and feel of the legacy maps, remastered in high definition.
