1 dzień temu · The PHIVOLCS FaultFinder is an application capable to do proximity searches to active faults. It may be used to determine the location of active faults in an area and to measure the shortest distance between an active fault and a user’s current location, which is determined by the gadget’s tracking device.

MAPS PORTAL. The PHILIPPINE INSTITUTE OF VOLCANOLOGY AND SEISMOLOGY (PHIVOLCS), a service Institute of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), is the government agency mandated to study hazards related to earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and related information.
The 1,200-km-long Philippine fault zone (PFZ) is a major tectonic feature that transects the whole Philippine archipelago from northwestern Luzon to southeastern Mindanao.
Ang FaultFinder ay isang tool na nagbibigay ng impormasyon tungkol sa mga aktibong fault at potensyal na peligro ng lindol sa Pilipinas.

7 lut 2023 · Luzon Island, the largest island in the Philippine archipelago, is traversed by the Philippine Fault, a ∼1,500-km-long left-lateral strike-slip fault, and cuts the entire archipelago from Luzon Island on the north to eastern Mindanao on the south (Tsutsumi and Perez, 2013).
Depending on the basemaps used and methods employed during mapping, discrepancies may be observed between location of hazards or exposure information and actual ground observations. For areas transected or are within 300 meters from active faults, we recommend that you refer to the Active Fault Map layouts produced by DOST-PHIVOLCS.
