Nehalem Bay State Park spreads along a 4-mile sand spit between Nehalem Bay and the Pacific Ocean at the mouth of the Nehalem River. Park visitors enjoy playing in the sand, flying kites, and beachcombing for shells and agates. Kayaking, fishing, and crabbing are popular.

Same-day reservations are available at this park. Reservations for campsites can be made anytime (exception: ADA site reservations can be booked only by calling 1 (800) 452-5687) or by registering at the park ranger entry station, when open. Online yurt reservations will be allowed up until 5:59 p.m. of arrival day.
This is a great state park for camping if you love the beach. There are 2 beach access points within the park that are a short climb up the dune to view beautiful Oregon sunsets over the ocean. The RV/Trailer sites are very clean with grass and not much dirt.
Nehalem Bay State Park has long been a favorite of ours. It always seems to be much less crowded than some of the more popular beaches such as Ecola or Cape Lookout, even though it is located just a couple of miles south of Manzanita.
