2 mar 2024 · This 83-acre tropical garden is located today on valuable real estate in Florida’s Coral Gables community. It was created by forward-looking naturalists starting in 1936 when economic conditions were harsh, jobs were scarce in the United States, and war threatened everyone.
Fairchild Tropical Garden lies about 6 miles south of Coral Gables downtown. It's easiest to get here by car or taxi. Another option is to take metrorail to South Miami, then transfer to bus 57. Parking is available by the Visitor Center as well as at the Lowlands Parking Field.
30 sty 2015 · More than 5,000 pieces of glass were carefully transported in eight 53-foot containers from Chihuly’s hometown of Seattle, to Coral Gables for this 24-installation exhibition. It took 15 days for Chihuly’s team to reconstruct the works, following photos for the precise placement of each and every delicate masterpiece.
