Excited to confirm that the 24/25 FAFSA *does* exist, and is not (entirely) a mythical creature. Looks like tonight's soft-launch window has already closed, though -- less than 15 minutes after I got in. The application does seem to be significantly easier than in prior years.
Completed the 2024-2025 FAFSA. I kept refreshing every 20min or so since this morning (sometimes a little more, sometimes less). Got in just after preparing dinner for my kids. Literally finished a few moments ago.
• 9 mo. ago. We’re past a soft opening for 2023. FAFSA was supposed to go live for the 23-24 school year. Congress granted a 1 year extension. DOE led us to believe for a year the new form would drop Dec 1st. That was pushed back to Dec 31st a mere 4 days before the 1st.

17 kwi 2024 · Yesterday, we began contacting millions of students and their parents who completed a 2023-24 FAFSA form but have not yet completed a 2024-25 application. We are letting them know that the 2024-25 FAFSA form is available and encouraging them to complete it.
