The manual release for Yamaha and Evinrude outboards is located on the left side, midway down the transom bracket. ON ALL BRANDS – This screw is to be turned counter-clockwise to release an upraised engine into a trim position where it can then be operated.

Then carefully crack open the trim assist cylinder's upper plug screw to release gas that has gotten past the piston’s seals.
4 wrz 2020 · To test for mechanical binding, open the manual release valve and manually tilt the motor up and down. If parts are binding, refer to MIDSECTION section. If the outboard will not stay in shallow water drive and drops down at fast idle, the wrong manual release valve may be installed.
Raise the outboard and engage the tilt support. Remove the rubber grommet from the blue/green trim/tilt cable connector. Remove the terminals from the connector by using a suitable tool to depress the tab. While the tab is depressed, pull on the wire from the rear of the connector to release it from the connector.

9 cze 2006 · #1. I have a 1978 Evinrude 115 that I bought last year. Due to illness I haven't been able to run it in about 6 months. I did get a chance to winterize and everything but the trim seems to be working fine. The trim motor runs fine, but the cyliner that moves the motor up and down is stuck.
11 gru 2019 · Some Trim systems manual relief valve was designed to allow tilting the engine up, but only allowing it to lower to the highest point of the Trim range. Hook up a battery and Control box and see if it still works properly.
