The European Lacrosse Championships began in 1995, the same year as the founding of the European Lacrosse Federation (ELF), to determine the best national lacrosse team of Europe. The men's tournament was held that first year, with the women following in 1996.
The main club field lacrosse competition is the Ken Galluccio Cup, where the winner of each country’s league competes to decide the European club champion. The ELF is an affiliate member of the lacrosse world governing body, World Lacrosse. 21 ELF members are full members of the WL, which is the majority of all full members.
We run European Championships for U20s and Senior Women’s and men’s field lacrosse as well as Men’s Box lacrosse. We support the development of referees and umpires throughout Europe and in collaboration with the Federation of International Lacrosse.

The 2020 European Lacrosse Championship will be the 11th edition of the European Lacrosse competition for men's national teams. It will be played in Wrocław, Poland. The championship was initially dated from 23 July to 1 August 2020. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the tournament was postponed to be played from 21 to 31 July 2021.
