The Regulation established Eurojust as the European Union Agency for Criminal Justice Cooperation (Eurojust) and became directly applicable on 12 December in the Member States, without a need for national transposing acts.
Eurojust was set up by Council Decision 2002/187/JHA (2) as a Union body with legal personality, to stimulate and to improve coordination and cooperation between competent judicial authorities of the Member States, particularly in relation to serious organised crime.
15 lut 2024 · Amending Regulation (EU) 2023/2131 requires Member States to provide Eurojust with information on any criminal investigations regarding terrorist offences as soon as such cases are referred to their judicial authorities.
